In absentia judgements - ECBA Open Letter to all Members of the European Parliament, July 2008

The ECBA has written to all MEP's about the Council Framework Decision with regard to in absentia Judgements encouraging all MEP's

  1. to not support the current Council proposal on in absentia judgements, i.e. to disagree with the LIBE-report
  2. to call for a new initiative for a legally binding instrument on procedural rights safeguards in criminal proceedings
