The ECBA has written to the Supreme Court/ Disciplinary Chamber of Poland to express its concerns over the proceedings instigated against Judge Igor Tuleya on 2 October 2020 (Click here for the letter). A second letter has been sent on 18 November 2020 to reiterate that the charges to be brought against Judge Tuleya, in the view of the ECBA, impermissibly contravene crucial provisions of domestic and international law. The ECBA strongly urged the authorities to take all the necessary measures to guarantee the independence of the judiciary in order to preserve the integrity of the administration of justice.
