We are sad to report the death of our friend Scott Crosby, Member of the ECBA Advisory Board and its first HR Officer.

Our friend Scott Crosby was an important player in the fight for fundamental rights in Europe.

He was a real criminal lawyer and the Chair of our human rights committee.

He was a true specialist in proceedings before the European Court of Human Rights and always intervened before this court to defend individuals when their rights were in danger.

Scott also launched and was editor of the New Journal of European Criminal Law (NJECL), a periodical for practitioners that all European lawyers use on a daily basis.

We are saddened by his death.

The ECBA has lost one of its most active and renowned members in the field of international criminal law.

We will always remember his talent, his humour, his ability to speak many languages and his welcome to others of course.

He was one of the most brilliant personalities in our association.

The President of ECBA, the Executive and Advisory Committee and all the members of the Association send their heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.
